The May Dugan Multi-Service Center offers a number of important community programs and services. The Center is open thirteen hours per day (Monday through Friday) to provide maximum access to the community, and the services are available in Spanish and English. In addition to providing affordable tenancy to other community organizations, the Center offers public meeting space free of charge to local organizations. The facility is readily accessible by public transportation and is fully accessible to those experiencing physical challenges. |

HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: assists families in obtaining decent, safe, and affordable housing and improving housing access and retention through case management, budgeting, referrals for furniture, furnishings, utility and rental referrals, and technical assistance to landlords. EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM: provides job readiness services and employment referrals with a particular emphasis on those families receiving time-limited services through the Cuyahoga County Department of Job and Family Services and/or those with a criminal justice or substance abuse history. COUNSELING PROGRAM: provides individual and family counseling without charge to low-income families and individuals who do not qualify for services through traditional mental health, health care, and/or other mainstream funding systems in the community. COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM: addresses the needs of the community through outreach efforts that are designed to: identify community need, widely disseminate information regarding available services, and make referrals to address the specific needs (legal, medical, mental health, etc.) of individuals and families; services also include free notary service, assistance with forms, and other information support. FOOD/NUTRITION PROGRAM: monthly food distribution in an effort to meet the nutritional needs of the families of the neighborhood, also provides educational services in the areas of healthy eating, disease identification and prevention, etc. and serves as an outreach function into the other programs and services of the agency. HIV/AIDS PREVENTION PROGRAMS: HIV prevention services for teens, pregnant teems and teen parents, young adults, and adults (including adults who are under criminal justice supervision, incarcerated, and/or in substance abuse treatment). CLEVELAND ADOLESCENT MOMS FIRST INFANT MORTALITY REDUCTION & HELP ME GROW Ð ENHANCED SERVICES PROGRAMS: are projects operated under contracts with the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County to provide outreach, case management, counseling, supportive and referral services that are designed to assure that pregnant and parenting teens and their families have the health care and social supports necessary to care for their children at the pre and post-natal stages of pregnancy, graduate from high school, and support themselves and their families. HEALTHY FATHERS PROGRAM: assists fathers in recognizing and meeting the responsibilities of fatherhood through assistance in obtaining employment, job training and education, help in finding decent affordable housing, along with the development of skills, attitudes, and actions necessary for effective childrearing and family support. FACES (Fathers are Caring, Encouraging, and Supportive) PROGRAM: The FACES Parenting Skills Program is designed to offer Assessment, Case Planning, Parenting Skills Education, Individualized Services, and a Fatherhood Action Plan for fathers who are seeking to regain custody of their children and/or play a helpful role in the growth, development, and support of their children. COMMUNITY ORGANIZING PROGRAM: The Center employs a Community Organizer who works with community members to identify emergent community needs and to form partnerships in order to efficiently and effectively address the needs of individuals, families, neighborhoods, and communities. COALITIONS AND COLLABORATIONS: In addition to providing direct assistance to individuals, families, and neighborhood communities, the Center also has a strong history of leadership in facilitating coalitions and collaborations of community agencies with the goal of developing strategies, practical solutions, action plans, and programs that are designed to address social policy and economic development issues that have significant impact on the community at large. The CenterÕs role in these associations and collaborations is the provision and coordination of case management services delivered under the supervision of a Program Manager/ LISW. Four current endeavors of substantial significance are outlined as follows: WEST SIDE RENTAL HOUSING COLLABORATIVE: The Center serves as the Lead Organization in a collaboration of twenty-three agencies with the goal of developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to develop 500 new affordable rental housing units over a five year period, at this time, currently over 400 have been developed. WEST SIDE FOSTER CARE AND FAMILY TO FAMILY NETWORKS: The Center is an active community partner in the West Side Foster Care and the West Side Family to Family Networks in coordinating services to children, birth parents, and foster parents who are referred by the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services. HEALTHY FATHERHOOD COLLABORATIVE: In recognition of the fact that, in recent years, the role of fathers has been overlooked as a vital asset in childrearing, family stability, and community formation, the Center is an active participant in the service planning and advocacy efforts of the Cuyahoga County Healthy Fatherhood Collaborative.
